Along Big Spring Creek in my hometown lives a stretch of this stream that is a sanctuary to some fantastic scenic views and OK trout fishing. At this particular corner of water, there’s a spot I photographed in the springtime and decided to try to paint in fall colors. I've often considered myself a bit of a visual cartographer. In 2011 we had major flooding in this area that reshaped the creek's path of travel. Since I had painted this I decided to revisit this piece of the creek and it does not look like this anymore! It makes me appreciate my connection with this gift. That I can be inspired to create from nature's visual offering to me and it is a snapshot of history!
